The correct date for EDETF's annual Bar-B-Q at Rockin' H Ranch. Thanks to our hosts Steve and Claudette Horvath we'll once again gather at 6:00 PM down by the arena. Steve and Claudette will provide the burgers and grill; YOU need to bring a potluck dish to share, a chair, and something to drink. Tim Thomas will be there with horses in training at various levels for a 7:00 PM demonstration.

EDETF has had a good spring, making progress on trail issues, keeping current trails open and most importantly keeping the views of equestrians front and center as agencies make decisions for future land use. With your help we can continue to focus on El Dorado County and the possibilities here on the Divide. At our last Board meeting there was a spirited discussion about up-country trails, old pioneer trails, and connections to Dru Barner Park. We have a real opportunity here. We will be setting goals for the next year(s) at our September board meeting. If you would like to have input e-mail pennys@foothill.net or drop a note in the mail to EDETF, to my home address; or just pick up the phone (530) 333-1652.

There are openings! Margretta Dahms has graciously agreed to receive your letter expressing your interest in being on the board, or as a chair of a committee. There will be changes next year, so step up to plate and volunteer now!

The Dru Barner Fun Ride is now 'old history', and there will be a full report in our next newsletter. Our next newsletter, let's talk about that. It was decided at our May board meeting to give ourselves a break for the summer.

So the next EDETF newsletter will be in the mail September 1st. There will be no newsletter for July or August. If you have something to submit for the fall, news of summer trail rides, pictures, trail issues, please submit to myself or Suzy R. by August 15th.
